Description: Titled, Basquiat: Boom For Real, this is the first large-scale exhibition in the United Kingdom of work by Jean-Michel Basquiat (1960-1988), American artist of Haitian descent, prodigy and phenom of the New York art scene during the 1980s, whose highly expressive and distinctive vision led to creative associations with Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, Blondie, among others. The exhibition is unprecedented in both its geographic location and an impressive selection of over 100 works from international museums and private collections, rare film, photography, and archive material.
