Description: The program, titled On Art and History: A Conversation with Tracy K Smith, is part of the Smithsonian Ingenuity Festival being held throughout its national museums to showcase recipients of awards for ingenuity.
The public conversation will feature US Poet Laureate Tracy K Smith discussing the place of history and of race in her poetry, with special attention to the collection, Wade in the Water. Copies of the collection will be made available for sale, with possible signing by the poet.
